DescriptionCD sound recording, transferred from reel-to-reel tape, of Sir Cyril Burt's (1883-1971) talk on 'Galton's Contribution to Psychology', specially prepared for the Annual General Meeting of the British Psychological Society held at Liverpool in April 1961-with a brief introduction by Professor E.A.Peel, April 1961.

Burt talks of Galton, Pearson, general intelligence and ability, I.Q., Spearman, Fluency, Delusion, Anthropometric Laboratory, J.M.Cattell, Gladstone, educational guidance, McDougall's enquiry lab at Cambridge, Brown, Flugal, LCC school appointment and the transformation of psychology into a branch of science.
