Description | CD sound recording ,transferred from reel-to-reel tape, of Dr John Willoughby Layard (1891–1974), M.A., D.Sc, Social anthropologist and analytical psychologist in conversation with J.C.Kenna, Honorary Archivist of the British Psychological Society, Oxford, 3rd May 1973.
Dr Layard remembers his undergraduate days in Cambridge, his contacts with A.C. Haddon and W.H.R. Rivers and the launching of his fieldwork with the latter on the island of Malekula in 1914, and speaks of his later academic work.
