AdminHistoryIn 1967 the newly created British Psychological Society's Division of Educational and Child Psychology [previously part of the Division of Professional Psychologists] made recommendations to the Society's Committee on Training on the suitability and effectiveness of universities proposals for post graduate training courses for Educational Psychologists. A DECP subcommittee of training was established c. 1969. In 1979 the DECP Training SubCommittee was reorganised from a subcommittee of the DECP to a BPS Committee reporting to both DECP and PAB [Professional Affairs Board]. It later reported to the Membership and Qualifications Board MQB.

In 1975 the first examination for a diploma in Developmental and Educational Psychology was held.
The diploma continued until 1985.
