Description | 11 November 2015: Memorandum of Understanding signed today, between the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) marks a move to even greater cooperation and mutual understanding between the two organisations. The Memorandum of Understanding will build on the previously signed Memorandum of Cooperation and aims to forge an even closer working relationship. This will include greater collaboration between PSI and the BPS Northern Ireland Branch in the organisation and running of joint conferences and activities for members of both Societies.

13 November 2015. Psychologist receives Award for Promoting Equality of Opportunity. Professor Paul A. Singh Ghuman, from the School of Education and Lifelong Learning at Aberystwyth University, is the recipient of the British Psychological Society’s (BPS) 2015 Award for Promoting Equality of Opportunity. The award, conferred by the BPS Ethics Committee, recognises a person whose work as a psychologist has made a significant contribution to challenging social inequalities in the UK.
19 November 2015 Two synthetic phonics programmes equally effective at teaching young children to read. Two of the synthetic phonics programmes, Letters and Sounds (L&S) and Early Reading Research (ERR), used by English primary schools to teach young children to read are equally effective overall.
23 November 2015 Advance Decisions and the role of psychologists. Psychologists have a key role to play in raising awareness of Advance Decisions and helping people write them.
25 November 2015 Occupational psychologists honoured at London event. British Psychological Society’s Division of Occupational Psychology Awards to recognise and reward excellence nce in the profession of occupational psychology by presenting awards to individuals who have made a significant contribution to it. Some of Britain’s leading occupational psychologists were honoured at a reception at BMA House, London WC1, yesterday evening (Tuesday 24 November 2015).
30 November 2015 Clinical psychologists begin 50th anniversary celebrations at London conference. The British Psychological Society’s Division of Clinical Psychology is beginning its 50th birthday celebrations at its annual conference in London this week. The conference is taking place at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, London W1, from 2-4 December 2015. |
