Description | In 1988 the Equal Opportunities Commission and the Cabinet Office announced that they were looking for more women to appoint to public bodies - this was discussed by the British Psychology Society BPS Standing Committee on Communications who suggest names and also arranged for an advertisement to go into the membership magazine The Psychologist 'Women Wanted' asking women to put their names forward. The applications which included CV were vetting and 54 were sent on to the Cabinet office.
