AdminHistoryIn November 1985 Ian Vine wrote a letter to the Bulletin of the British Psychological Society complaining about what he felt was the uninformed public debate concerning the use of 'dangerous drugs' within society and that the Society should 'set the record straight with a clear public statement of relevant facts and other considerations. The Scientific Affairs Board set up a working party to consider the matter.. David Booth coordinated responses of ideas to go into the statement.. The working party first met September 1987 (D A Booth, N T Barlow, M Murray, G Bennett, P McGill, M Norris and Brendan Bradley) and the statement was completed by June 1989 and circulated to Government ministers.
