Date | 1981 |
Extent | 1 file |
Physical Description | 1 file |
Description | Correspondence between the British Psychological Society and Graham Bright MP [later Sir Graham Bright] on his proposed [and unsuccessful] 10 minute bill (15 April 1981) on the registrations of psychotherapists includes a copy of the 1980 British Psychological Society 'Statement on the Statutory Registration of Psychotherapists' which was not in agreement with Mr Bright's proposed legislation.
Graham Bright was originally interested in introducing a bill to amend regulations on hypnosis as there were no regulations to amend he then sought to introduce a bill on psychotherapists based on the recommendation of the Sieghart report 'Joint Professions Working Party on Statutory Registration of Psychotherapists (Sieghart) 1978 which the British Psychological Society had responded to in the Bulletin of the British Psychological Society October 1978 page 369-370. |
