AdminHistoryIn May 1988, a convention of external examiners on undergraduate psychology degrees was held in Plymouth. The convention was funded by the Council for National Academic Awards, with additional support from the British Psychological Society, the Association of Heads of Psychology Departments and Polytechnic South West. The proceedings were published as an occasional paper by the BPS Group of Teachers of Psychology [later DARTP]. It was noted that the convention showed the diversity of practice between different institutions and it was decided to set up a working party (Steve Newstead, Tony Gale, Roger Murphy and David Warren Piper) to draw up guidelines to provide a framework of good practice.
