Description | Offprint of British Psychological Society Memorandum Submitted to Advisory Council of the Penal System on Detention Centres. Society working party to draw up report included Charlotte Banks, R Cockett, V P Holloway, Ralph Maliphant and P H Shepland.
Includes summary of recommendations, development of the system of Detention Centres, Are Detention Centres Necessary?, Range and Applicability, For Whom is the Detention Centre Suitable?, Alternative Sentences, The Mechanics of Selection, Length of Sentences and Repeat Sentences, Desirable Regime Features, Provision of Detention Centres and Research.
