AdminHistory | On 18 November 1974 the Government set up a Committee to report on the Attainments of the School Leaver and its report was published on 14 September 1977 and contained recommendations in seven areas: a) attainments in numeracy and literacy; assessment and the public examination system; curricular and occupational guidance; 'disadvantaged groups - girls, ethnic minorities and handicapped pupils; teachers and teaching training; communication between educational agencies and industry; and education and training for the post 16 group in work and further education. The British Psychological Society had set up a committee to submit evidence but due to a confusion of dates this was left too late. On receiving the report the Scientific Affairs Board decided to continue the working party to consider the report. The last meeting of the working party was May 1978. |
