AdminHistory | The first media training for psychologists was organised in the 1970s by Christopher Hall, previously Chief Information officer to Barbara Castle. The Standing Press Committee revived the idea and held a training course on 3 April 1986. When Stephen White was appointed as Director of Information he took over running the courses from 1987.
Between 1987 and April 1993 delegates were given a copy of BPS Standing Press Committee Media Handbook, after that they were given a copy of 'Hitting The Headlines' A Practical Guide to the Media' by Stephen White, Peter Evans, Chris Mihill and Maryon Tysoe published by the Society in 1993.
A BPS Guide to 'Working with the Media" was published in 2009 |
