AdminHistoryThe British Journal of Psychology Statistical Section was established in 1947, with Cyril Burt and Professor Godfrey H Thomson as Editors and Professor Harding as Managing Editor, Harding was succeeded by Dr Maule and after Thomson's death in 1955, Burt was sole editor with Charlotte Banks as assistant editor. It was renamed British Journal of Statistical Psychology in 1954 and the The British Journal of Mathematical & Statistical Psychology in 1965. The Society recommended in 1954 that each of its Journals set up a Committee which would report to the Journals Committee and the Standing Committee on Publications but only the British Journal of Statistical Psychology agreed to do this appointing J W Whitfield Chair, members were Cyril Burt, Brian Foss, Alastair Heron, S Small, J Sutherland, F Warburton, Max Hamilton, and Charlotte Banks (who was the Secretary).
