| Description | Minutes, agendas and papers of the British Psychological Society Psychologist Editorial Committee PEC, and [from September 1995], the Psychologist Policy Committee PPC includes
20 January 1995 Minutes, agenda and papers includes membership survey, comments on writing workshops, advertising policy, report on Student page; editing by Associate Editors; proposed change of frequency to fortnightly; new management, roles and responsibilities of the Honorary Editor and staff after the report of the Review Group; draft annual report; review of recent issues, word count, backlog of unpublished manuscripts.
11 May 1995 Minutes, agenda and papers includes membership survey, cost of writing workshop, review of recent issues, new arrangements for membership of the Committee and draft terms of reference for a new Psychologist Policy Committee; deputy representation on Council, word count and unpublished manuscripts; proposed article on advice for potential book authors, copyright policy.

| AdminHistory | The Psychologist is the in-house magazine for members of the British Psychological Society. The first issue was January 1988 - it was a successor to the Bulletin of the British Psychological Society [previously Quarterly Bulletin of the British Psychological Society] 1948-1987.

1. The Editorial Sub-Committee was a SubCommittee of the Standing Committee on Communications until December 1989. It acted as a policy making body on all issues regarding The Psychologist; act as an adviser to the Managing Editor and the Honorary Editors; act as a 'reviewer' of past issues of 'The Psychologist'

Honorary Editors Glynis Breakwell and Graham Davey 1987-92. From this point onwards there was only one Honorary Editor

2. The Psychologist Editorial Committee succeeded the Editorial Sub-Committee and reported to Council. Assistant Editors were responsible for ideas and some copy for features, reviews, art work etc. There was also a team of Associate Editors who were responsible for generating and reviewing academic articles. The differentiation between academic and feature articles was gradually blurred.

The Assistant Editors became Associate Editors in 1995 after the review of the Committee in 1993-1994 and a staff member Stephen White became the sole Assistant Editor. The PEC lost its editorial function and its name changed to reflect this.
3. The Psychologist Policy Committee PPC May 1995-date [2018] replaced the Psychologist Editorial Committee PEC
