| Description | Minutes, agendas and papers (not complete) of the British Psychological Society Psychologist Policy Committee PPC [for the Society in-house Journal 'The Psychologist'] includes
18 January 2002 Psychologist Policy Committee minutes, agenda and papers. Includes committee membership, advertising revenues, a new 'News from the Boards' column, a revised style guide, analysis of recent past issues, a new 'Media Watch' column, appointments memorandum and job advertising issues, focus groups at the BPS Annual Conference in Blackpool, committee representatives reports and a paper outlining the gender breakdown of Psychologist contributors.
10 May 2002 Psychologist Policy Committee minutes and agenda only. Includes the Psychologists revised style guide, discussion of gender imbalance of contributors, author feedback on magazine format, reflection on the focus groups at the BPS Annual Conference in Blackpool, strengths and weaknesses of regional offices following the publishing of phone numbers, editorial policy in relation to BPS members writing in the Psychologist and reports from representatives.

| AdminHistory | The Psychologist is the in-house magazine for members of the British Psychological Society. The first issue was January 1988 - it was a successor to the Bulletin of the British Psychological Society [previously Quarterly Bulletin of the British Psychological Society] 1948-1987.

1. The Editorial Sub-Committee was a SubCommittee of the Standing Committee on Communications until December 1989. It acted as a policy making body on all issues regarding The Psychologist; act as an adviser to the Managing Editor and the Honorary Editors; act as a 'reviewer' of past issues of 'The Psychologist'

2. The Psychologist Editorial Committee succeeded the Editorial Sub-Committee and reported to Council. Assistant Editors were responsible for ideas and some copy for features, reviews, art work etc. There was also a team of Associate Editors who were responsible for generating and reviewing academic articles. The differentiation between academic and feature articles was gradually blurred.

The Assistant Editors became Associate Editors in 1995 after the review of the Committee in 1993-1994 and a staff member Stephen White became the sole Assistant Editor. The PEC lost its editorial function and its name changed to reflect this.
