23 February 2007 Psychologist Policy Committee minutes, draft minutes, agenda and papers. Includes the ongoing redesign of the Psychologist, three mock-ups of new designs presented, the company TUink's design selected as the best though further changes proposed, proposal of integration of Psychologist Appointments and The Psychologist, report from John Smith on recent survey of Society members, criticism of survey methodology aired and agreed to be taken up at the next Publications and Communications Board meeting and a review of recent issues. Includes spreadsheet of article submissions including names of authors, the subject of the work and whether the piece was accepted, and a 'Display Ad Page Count 1991-2007' document.

11 May 2007 Psychologist Policy Committee minutes, draft minutes, appendix to minutes, agenda and papers. Includes approval of extending Paul Redford's term of office as Chair for three years, discussion of redesign, reservations raised about reference layout and the redesign's intended audience, generally views favourable, report on integration of Psychologist Appointments into The Psychologist, BPS Communications unhappy with this, discussion of Ron Roberts chapter in the book 'Just War' in which he examines the contents and actions of The Psychologist and concludes that the publication adopted a 'propaganda model' in relation to its coverage of the war in Iraq, Committee disagrees with Roberts' analysis, review of recent issues, forthcoming meeting agendas to be sent by email, Top Sante supplement, implications of redesign on website, marketing to students, Leicester proposed as regular meeting place, idea rejected. Includes appendix to PPC minutes in which Jon Sutton outlines Ron Roberts' article and takes issue with Roberts interpretation of a previous email exchange, includes copy of Just War chapter, spreadsheet of recent article submissions and a 'Display Ad Page Count 1991-2007' document.

AdminHistoryThe Psychologist is the in-house magazine for members of the British Psychological Society. The first issue was January 1988 - it was a successor to the Bulletin of the British Psychological Society [previously Quarterly Bulletin of the British Psychological Society] 1948-1987.

1. The Editorial Sub-Committee was a SubCommittee of the Standing Committee on Communications until December 1989. It acted as a policy making body on all issues regarding The Psychologist; act as an adviser to the Managing Editor and the Honorary Editors; act as a 'reviewer' of past issues of 'The Psychologist'

2. The Psychologist Editorial Committee succeeded the Editorial Sub-Committee and reported to Council. Assistant Editors were responsible for ideas and some copy for features, reviews, art work etc. There was also a team of Associate Editors who were responsible for generating and reviewing academic articles. The differentiation between academic and feature articles was gradually blurred.

The Assistant Editors became Associate Editors in 1995 after the review of the Committee in 1993-1994 and a staff member Stephen White became the sole Assistant Editor. The PEC lost its editorial function and its name changed to reflect this.

3. The Psychologist Policy Committee PPC May 1995-date [2018] replaced the Psychologist Editorial Committee PEC
