AdminHistoryDuring the summer of 1948 a circular letter was sent to several and to representative publishers of mental tests in this and other countries asking for samples of tests for exhibition at the International Mental Health Congress in London. These specimens were to form the basis of a permanent collection to be held by the British Psychological Society - over 500 tests were shown at the Congress. This was organised by a Committee of Council convened by P E Vernon. The collection was then held at the BPS Offices in Tavistock House with a budget of £5 a year. An article was written by Vernon about the collection in the Bulletin of the British Psychological Society Vol 1 Number 6 October 1949. After an appeal for more donations a catalogue was published in the September 1953 Bulletin of the British Psychological Society.
