AdminHistoryIn 1919 the Executive Committee of the British Psychological Society is replaced by a Council and the office of President is established. A General Committee, from 1959 Finance and General Purposes [F&CGP] Committee prepared material for Council meetings. In 2002 the Society received approval from the Privy Council for changes to its Charter and Statutes which allowed for the transfer of trustee status from the Council to an expanded Board of Directors which succeed the F&CGP and was named the Board of Trustees. A BPS 'Representative Council' still existed but its role was not executive, although it had places on the Board of Trustees - this body itself was renamed the BPS Senate in 2018.
