NotesThe History of Psychology Centre is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all our users. Be aware that our catalogue contains historic terminology relating to mental health which could be considered offensive. The terminology exists within the original record and has been retained to inform users on viewpoints at the time. It in no way reflects the attitudes of the cataloguers or the British Psychological Society.
There was a fire at the British Psychological Society head office in 1946 and it is possible that Council papers prior to this date were lost, although efforts were made to reconstruct though duplicates the General and Council Minutes books (BPS/001/1, BPS/001/2 and BPS/001/3/01) 1901-1946.
