AdminHistoryThe University Grants Committee UGC was an advisory committee of the British government, which advised on the distribution of grant funding amongst the British universities. It was in existence from 1919 until 1989 which it was replaced by the University Funding Council UFC and then in 1992 by National Higher Education Funding Councils for each country.
