| AdminHistory | The British Psychological Society was founded in 1901 by 1926 the Society (and its library) joined with the Royal Anthropological Society to share premises at 52 Upper Bedford Place London. They moved in with the Aristoleian Society in 1932 at 55 Russell Square. The library moved to the University of Nottingham during the war and in 1941 the Society moved into the BMA building at Tavistock House South. However a fire destroyed this office and many of the Societys records in April 1946.The Society stay in Tavistock House until 1969, when after an appeal to their members they moved to Accommodation at the Royal Institution in Albemarle Street on 1 10-14 year lease.
In 1976 the Society's main administrative offices move from Albemarle Street to St Andrews House, 48 Princes Street East Leicester. A London office is acquired in 1999 at 33 John Street. John Street is sold in 2006 and the Society purchases a new London building at 30 Tabernacle Street. |
