AdminHistory | The British Psychological Society BPS Postgraduate Admissions Committee PAC set up in December 1987 with Chairmanship of Dr Ed Miller. It was started at the same time as the Graduate Admissions Committee GAC)- under the Membership and Qualifications Board [MQB] as part of the new responsibilities in setting up a register of Chartered Psychologists. This suite of Committees took over some of the responsibilities of the Standing Committee on Membership SCM.
After the European Community Directive of recognition of qualification the PAC was, in 1991 merged with the JOCQ Joint Overseas Qualification Committee which had been a subcommittee of the Board of Examiners. When Ed Miller was elected President of the BPS and David Williams took over the Chairmanship in 1991. By 1993 the policy work of the Committee had stabilised as the work became more routine and the Postgraduate Admissions Committee was restructured as the Admissions Committee (AC). |
