DescriptionReport titled 'Mechanical Tests and Mechanical Training' (no. 209) by Philip E. Vernon.
The report mentions a number of tests used in naval engineering training by recruits ranging in age from 15 to 18+ years. The tests included Memory for Designs, Mechanical and Electrical Information, Wire-bending and Cox Models. The report took the opportunity to assess test performance during various stages of training, based on the age of the recruits. Statistical analysis of test result by age, alongside hand-drawn diagrams is included.
