DescriptionReport titled 'D.S.P. Follow-Up: Appendix I. Auditory Acuity Test.' (no. 99) by Philip E. Vernon.
The report investigates the correlation between hearing loss and proficiency. In the Signals group, no correlation has been found, with varying degrees of proficiency appearing across the sample regardless of level of hearing loss. Correlation was, however, found in the R.A.C. group. It is concluded that for R.A.C., a strict limit of acuity 0 should be adhered to, whereas amongst signallers a Morse Aptitude Test is sufficienct in achieving the same goals.
