DescriptionReport titled 'SP Test Scores of Higher Gunnery Rates.' (no. 144) by Philip E. Vernon.
The report outlines the context in which gunnery trainees are evaluated, emphasising the possibility that the individual recommendations they are given, as well as some test scores, may be skewed due to invididual bias of the supervisors. The report further provides data distribution of various test scores across different classes. It is further discusses how these are prepresentative of real performance, as well as the predictive power they yield on training progress and future performance. The report is concluded with two supplementary documents, including practical testing for mechanics, as well as novel tests for radio technicians.
