As companies sought advice fromm the institute she found herself studying jobs in a wide range of industries and commerce. In 1929 she married R O Raphael. In 1935 she began to study methods of asessing the attitudes of employees of all grades to their work. In 1952 she became Assistant Direcotr in charge of all industrial investigations. She taught at LSE and was an examiner there and at the University of Liverpool. A study of patients started in 1952 lost its funding in 1961 so Raphael retired to continue the study on a voluntary basis - writing several reports via King Edwards Hospital Fund on patient attitudes.
