North East(Scotland) Regional Hospital Board, 1963-1965. Basic Grade Clinical Psychologist at Kingseat and Ladysbridge Hospitals.
Medical Research Council Unit for Epidemiological Studies in Psychiatry (University of Edinburgh), 1965-1971. Varied research activities in which studies of attempted suicide, personality and the pursuit of methodological problems were prominent.
