The Historical, Philosophical and Theoretical Psychology Section provides an opportunity for those interested in the history of psychology or in the philosophical aspects of the subject to exchange ideas and promote the discussion of these interests within the Society. Annual conferences were held from 1987.
In 2024 the Section was renamed from the History and Philosopy of Psychology Section to the Historical, Philosophical and Theoretical Psychology Section.
