From BPS 1966 Annual Report, Report of the Division of Clinical Psychology:
'A branch of the Division was formed in the South-West Metropolitan Regoin, N.H.S. on 16th September, and a Chairman, Honorary Secretary and Branch Committee were elected. This Branch Committee prepared Branch Rules which were approved by the Branch in General Meeting on 28th October. The Branch Committee is to appoint a Heads of Clinical Psychology Departments Committee to deal with matters connected with the training of clinical psychologists and with clinical psychological work in general and to give its views to the Regional Hospital Board on such matters as and when required. The Honorary Assistant Secretary has undertaken responsibility for contact with regional organisations and with individual clinical psychologists concerned with Regional questions.'

From the BPS 1967 Annual Report, Report of the Division of Clinical Psychology:
'Other branches in the process of formation are in the South East Metropolitan, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and East Anglian Regions....'

From the BPS 1969 Annual Report, Report of the Division of Clinical Psychology: notes 10 branches in England (including branches in Sourth East, South West, North East, and North West Metropolitan areas) and 4 in Scotland.
For 1969, The South East Metropolitan Chair was Dr D. Bannister, M. Berger, A.R. Dabbs; The South West Metropolitan Chair was J.G. Thorpe, Secretary Mrs D. Cortazzi; North East Metropolitan Branch Chair was Mrs G. Tollington and secretary Miss S. Reiman; North West Metropolitan Chair was Dr R. Mein, Secretary D.G. Buick.

Earliest records we hold are from 1978, meetings of the DCP Thames Branch. But more research required (to determine if this was connected to London Branch or not)
