Activity	The Division of Criminological & Legal Psychology, founded in 1977. The aims of the proposed Division was published in the Bulletin in November 1976 and an inaugural meeting was held on 18 March 1977 at King's College during a scientifc meeting where Tony Black and Stephanie Braithwaite spoke for the proposal. A meeting was then held on 25 May 1977 to elect a committee. Chairman D Anthony Black, Hon Sec Stephanie Braithwaite, Hon Treasurer J C Freeman Conferences D Farrington Publicity May Mott and Membership Gloria Maycock. The Division exists to represent the interests of the increasing number of psychologists whose work involves them in the Criminal and Civil Justice systems. The first annual conference was in 3-5 January 1991 at the University of Kent. A Society Journal 'Legal and Criminal Psychology' started in February 1996.
