A Scottish Office was first opened in December 1974 based at the University of Stirling, in 1983 it was in Aberdeen. By 2001, the concept of a Scottish Office was revived with an office based in the Unversity of Glasgow with the aim -
* to Provide a focal point for Scottish membership of the Society
* Encourage the development of psychology as a scientific and professional discipline
* Raise the public awareness of psychology
* L iaise with the Scottish Executive and Parliament
* Act as a correspondence address for Scottish agencies and promote contacts and networks in Scotland
* Service Society subsystems in Scotland and assist with their meetings and conferences
* Help recruitment to the Society in Scotland.
