Activity | Attended Perthshire Strone of Cally Primary School until 1937 then Blairgowrie High School until 1943. In 1943 he went to St.Andrews University. Interrupted by RAF Aircrew Service he eventually graduated with an ordinary MA in Psychology and Philosophy in 1949 and an Honours MA in Psychology and Economics in 1950. From 1950 to 1953 he became a Management Trainee at J and P Coats working in the UK until 1951 then Australia from 1951 to 1953. At Coats he received training in international sales marketing, accounting and general business administration. From 1953 to 1958 he was a member of staff at the National Institute of Industrial Psychology where he engaged on research until 1957 when he was appointed a Senior Investigator and Senior Tutor at the Institute responsible for courses. In 1958 he became the Research Manager at Attwood Statistics Ltd a company engaged in opinion, attitude and market research surveys. From 1960 to 1965 he was an executive recruitment consultant at Management Selection Ltd's (MSL) Scottish Office in Glasgow transferring to Dublin as Director and General Manager of MSL (Ireland) from 1965 to 1968. He left MSL to join A.K.Appointments as Managing Director from 1968 to 1972. In 1972 he became the London Director of Knight Wagenstein Ltd leaving in 1973 to become Managing Director of Team Management Appointments until 1976. Also in 1976 David Duncan set up Social Audit Services and became self-employed.
