Senior appointments in the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research; Secretary of the Heyworth Committee that recommended the establishment of a British Social Science Research Council.Cherns established the Centre for the Utilization of Social Sciences (CUSSR) with key linkages to the Tavistock Institute, to ISR at Ann Arbor (Stan Seashore) and to UCLA (Lou Davis).
His daughter Penny Cherns endowed an annual prize at Loughborough University in his memory. |
